New Silhouettes Steal the Show

The biggest trend? The return of basque and dropped waist gowns.

• Basque Waist Gowns: Featuring a corseted bodice with a V- or U-shaped waistline, these gowns create a long, slimming effect. They appeared in both full-skirted and sleek designs, with some corsets even being removable for a versatile look.

• Dropped Waist Gowns: This silhouette extends down to the hipbone, often paired with voluminous ballgown skirts for an elegant contrast.

Bold Fabrics & Romantic Textures

This season, bridal designers embraced bold textures, statement florals, and feminine, airy fabrics. The result? A dreamy, romantic aesthetic that ranged from soft and ethereal to dramatic and voluminous.

• High Slits: This sultry feature continues to dominate, appearing in both full-skirted ballgowns and sleek draped styles.

• Convertible Necklines: Designers like Galia Lahav introduced mix-and-match pieces, allowing brides to transform strapless gowns into halter or high-neck styles with long sleeves. Last year, Galia featured curvy models on the runway, but this year they were nowhere to be seen.

Curvy & Inclusive Representation on the Runway

Where was the plus-size representation? While inclusivity is improving, true size diversity was still limited. Milla Nova featured stunning styles on curvy models, while Hera Coutoure was the only brand to showcase a true plus-size model.

Many designers now offer sizes up to 24-30, though some charge extra for extended sizing.

Luxury label Anne Barge is proud to be a size-inclusive brand. Dresses from their collections can be made into sizes 0-22 and 16SP-24SP.  Anne Barge understands how meaningful it is for brides to be able to try on wedding dresses without the worry of a gown not being available in some sizing.
